Quick answers

How do I install the TestFlight beta?

Check your inbox for an email from TestFlight. On your iPhone, install the TestFlight app from the App Store, then tap "View in TestFlight" in the invite email and accept. Tare will install automatically. If the invite never arrives, email us with the Apple ID email you want us to invite.

I need a refund on my subscription.

Subscriptions are processed by Apple, not us — we can't refund directly. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple typically approves within 48 hours. If they deny it and you still feel it's unfair, email us and we'll advocate on your behalf.

How do I cancel my subscription?

iPhone → Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Tare → Cancel. You keep access until the end of the current billing period. You can also tap "Manage Subscription" in Tare's Profile tab, which opens the same Apple menu.

How do I delete my account and all my data?

Profile → Delete account. Or email privacy@trytare.app. Active data is removed within 30 days; backups within 90. See our Privacy Policy for the full breakdown.

How do I export my training data?

Email privacy@trytare.app and we'll send you a CSV of your workouts, sets, and body-scan history within 7 days. An in-app export button is coming in a future release.

Does Tare work on Android?

Not yet. v0.1 is iOS only — TestFlight then App Store. An Android version is planned but not scheduled. Join the waitlist to get notified when it ships.

Why is my body fat reading different from my DEXA scan / scale / calipers?

Tare uses AI vision analysis on photos. It's designed to be accurate within a few percentage points for normal body compositions and consistent over time so you can track trends. It is not a medical device. For absolute precision, get a DEXA. For tracking changes week-to-week, Tare is more convenient and more consistent than calipers.

What does Milo do that I can't get from ChatGPT?

Milo has direct access to your training data — every workout, every set, every phase you've done — and can edit your plan in real time via tool calls. When you ask "swap bench for incline press in my next session," Milo actually changes the programmed phase, not just text. ChatGPT can write about it; Milo does it.

My injury isn't in the onboarding list.

The onboarding is intentionally brief. Use the free-text "anything else" field to mention it, or tell Milo directly in the Coach tab ("I have chronic lower back pain, especially on deadlift") — Milo will take it into account on future plan generations and exercise recommendations.

Known issues (v0.1 beta)

Apple Health sync is temporarily disabled pending capability review. Your workouts won't appear in Apple Health in this build. Re-enabling in a future update.

Body-scan cannot complete in the iOS Simulator (no camera). Real device only.

Day-of-week for "today's workout" uses device time. If you're traveling across time zones, you may briefly see yesterday's or tomorrow's programmed session.

Name entered on onboarding was not persisting to the database on some first-run flows. Fixed.

Coach greeting dialog blocked taps for ~5 seconds on cold start. Fixed.
